Fun on a Friday night

I know I’m not the only one out there organizing a chest freezer tonight. Just admire my before and after shots. Thank you, thank you. I know. I’m a freezer organizing genious. Notice how all of the leftovers are on the top and easily accessible. The the veggies are just below but you don’t actually have to move anything to get to them. What you can’t see is the meat, which we are cutting down on, is below the crate of leftovers. Also, the desserts are on the very bottom. You have to want dessert enough to work for it.

The before is what the freezer looked like after my last organization attempt was interrupted. It was pretty gruesome and made me sad. Funny how the little things can just brighten up your day. 🙂

Notice how everything is just piled all willy-nilly.

The lower layer was even worse.  This is what happens when you get everything pulled out of the freezer and plan to begin the chaos massacre, and then your husband tells you that dinner will be ready in 5.

This is only half of the stuff in the freezer.  You see the beginning of organization; veggies in the crate, desserts and cooking supplies on the red cart, left overs and more veggies on the work bench.  I had to resist the temptation to rest anything on the handy heater next to me.  It was definitely on, and I was definitely wearing my winter coat and heavy gloves.

Ah, nice and tidy.  I know, it may look similar to the top, but seriously, there are left overs in the top crate with meat in the crate below.  Veggies and homemade chicken stock are along the front and fruits are in the middle crate.  We definitely have too much dessert, you can see it takes up the entire right side.  Oops.

No reason to not eat leftovers.  “but I don’t know what’s in there”  well, it’s all at the top, read the labels.  Of course, it doesn’t help if you didn’t like them the first time…
